Ascent Trip Report

Our plan to access this HP from the N as per Ken Oesers TR was not to be. There was no one home at the house for permission. We ended up successfully summiting from the south with our Plan B.
Future COHPERS should first try for permission at the N access (the shortest/easiest route) before going with our approach. This TR provides driving directions for both approaches.

Driving Directions to the N and S approach.
SOUTH APPROACH ... track/xcountry/wack .... 2.6 miles, 700' gain, 1:35 hours RT
From JCT #231/#260 (N of Paynes Store) we drove E 2.8 miles to a right turn on Snake Hollow Road, then S for 1.5 miles to a pipe line ROW (36.41623,-86.23035). On the left is a track that heads N up the ROW for 100 yds, we parked there. There is a small posted sign but with the amount of beer cans on the ground we didn't think its a problem to park here.
I hiked the ROW N 1 mile to its crest (picked up a track on way up, fences and creek to cross). The west area is 100+ yds left and the Northeast area 300 yds to the right, with the Southeast area at 200 yds. All easy open woods.
NORTH APPROACH
From #260/Snake Hollow Road above continue driving E on #260 for .65 miles to MB#2085 on the right. Turn right onto the gravel driveway and go/climb S for .3 miles to the house, half-way-up cross the pipe line ROW - the HP knobs are 1/2 mile S up the ROW. Permission at the house is required.

"TROUSDALE COUNTY WAS FORMED IN 1870 AND NAMED FOR WILLIAM TROUSDALE (1790-1872) BRIGADIER GENERAL IN THE MEXICAN WAR, GOVERNOR OF TENNESSEE 1849-1851 AND US MINISTER TO BRAZIL 1853-1855. AS OF THE 2010 CENSUS ITS POPULATION WAS 7870 AND ITS COUNTY SEAT IN HARTSVILLE. WITH AN AREA OF JUST 117 SQUARE MILES, IT IS TENNESSEE'S SMALLEST COUNTY. HARTSVILLIANS HAD INITIALLY SOUGHT CREATION OF THEIR OWN SEPARATE COUNTY IN 1849, BUT THE EFFORT FAILED."
