Ascent Trip ReportThis was my second trip to the White Mountains and my second and third 4000'ers. We ascended the Flume Slide trail, which wasn't as difficult as expected and was actually quite fun. We reached the summit about noon and stopped to take pictures, rest, and eat. We shared the summit with a few other groups of hikers. One woman even had a surplus of candy that she shared with us, thanks again. After the break we continued to Liberty via the ridge trail, a nice walk through fir trees with blue sky behind them. Was feeling tired on the walk back up but got a boost once I could hear voices on the summit. I powered up the last few hundred yards and had fun running up the rock scramble just before the summit. The 360 views were amazing and the haze had cleared enough to see the surrounding mountains. We took another break, ate, took pictures, and let the sweat dry off our shirts then continued on. We returned via the Liberty Springs trail and made it back to the car just as we ran out of water, good timing. I had a great time and can't wait to get out again and bag some more 4k'ers.
