Ascent Trip ReportEight year old Justin's first peak! The 2.8 mile route to Bald Mountain is a nice combination of meadow and forest. Coming back in the early afternoon, it did hit 100 degrees, as we learned later, but it was not oppressive, as the trees and the breeze had a pleasant cooling effect. A wrong turn was taken on the trip down, but it was pleasant nonetheless, as it led to the "Old Red Barn" and allowed us to not only see, but hear, three red tailed hawks.
