Ascent Trip Report

The closest parking for Andy Mountain is at a cul-de-sac to the NW where you are only .13 miles from the summit, however, there is no way to access the high point from here without walking through some resident's yard. I saw a lady coming out of her house there and she had no problem with me using her property as a trail head, even though I saw a "No Trespassing" sign nailed to an electric pole in front of her house. The climb to Andy Mountain's summit is easy as long as you avoid the huge thickets of thorns, but there is a trail close to the top that allows you to pass through the vegetation with no difficulty. On the right side of this trail close to the summit is a benchmark, which is not indicted on the topo map. The flat summit is open and free of any briars, but it is a littered mess with trash and broken bottles. A fire ring there suggests it is a teenager's party spot, however, there are good views in all directions here. I made it to the summit and back to my car in less than 15 minutes.
