Ascent Trip ReportMy boyfriend and I drove from Syracuse, three hours to Gore Mountain only to discover a sign posted that said, Trail closed, heavy construction in progress, Gore Mountain. Luckily a construction worker came over to us and realized we ready to hike and said just to watch out for a few construction vehicles. We only saw one on the way up and one on the way down. This was our 9th fire tower this year and as usually it was another cloudy day. This was a very steep climb and a very humid day but we had our water blatters so we were fine. There is a nice brook and we stopped there on the way back and soaked our feet. It took us about 4 1/2 hours to do the 9 miles. Having never been there before, it would be a great place to ski!
