Ascent Trip Report

Started trip at about 10:50am, the path of choice, as provided by scottys on summitpost was cowboys rib, which was fairly straight forward though each new horn we got to felt like it should have been the peak itself. The threat of weather was ever present as was the nagging injuries that no one my age should feel haha. All in all I would suggest anyone planning to make this trip should definately drive across the creek and park along the fenceline that parallels the mountain. We didn't and it added about 40 minutes across the valley before we even started accending. Great view of pyramid lake as well as Mt. Rose, Slide Mountain, and King Lear even on the off and on overcast day. Pick a good day and give yourself extra time over the report, it took us 8 hours round trip including the trek across the valley and quite a few stops on the way up.
