Ascent Trip ReportTook the dirt road off of hwy 264 out to trailhead in a minivan without difficulty. Took the slightly longer but more gently sloping Trail Canyon Saddle route. Made it to the saddle in less than 2 hours with a slow group. Another 2.5 from there to summit with multiple stops for my group to stay together. 2 other guys who summited took the steeper route up the scree bowl and both said they wished they'd gone the other way. We went down that scree pretty easily and were very glad we hadn't gone up it. The weather at the top was perfect, and we had a gorgeous view of the surrounding ranges.
Tips: 90 ounces of fluid was more than enough for me with our weather. Overnight camping on the trail (past the trailhead) requires a permit as do campfires (even at the trailhead). We did neither to make things easier.
