Ascent Trip ReportI started at the McKinley Hollow PA at 1650~', and followed the OM trail steeply up to the PW trail at 3050~'. I took a right on the PW and followed it up to Balsam's mainly viewless summit. I then reversed direction and followed to PW up over Haynes to the turn-off for the Eagle herd path which led 0.1 miles to a cairn at the approximate summit.
The PW train was fine to Balsam, but basically amounted to blazed bushwhacking over to Eagle. My arms look like a picked a fight with a roomful of Siamese cats due to the proliferation of stinging nettles.
Overall trip was 9.3', 2800~' of gain, and 5.5 hours at a mellow pace.
