Ascent Trip ReportI was on San Juan Island with some friends and coerced them into driving up the private road that leads up Mount Dallas. At the highest point the road climbs over the peak and heads back down. I jumped out of the car and scrambled around on all of the protruding rocks while they turned around. Then jumped back in the car and drove down. There are a few views on the way, but the top is covered with trees. Lots of Madrones (Arbutus menziesii) in the San Juans, it's one of my favorite trees.
