Ascent of Stratton Mountain in 1969| Others in Party: | Troop 2 Hudson MA including my Dad brother Pat Bob Gill Joe DeAngelis. | | Date: | 1969 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Stratton Mountain | | Location: | USA-Vermont | | Elevation: | 3940 ft / 1200 m |
Ascent Trip ReportMy first taste of climbing at age 11. As I recall, wild blueberries, spring water and views from the fire tower were the highlights of the ascent. I recall the descent to Stratton Pond was steeper and more strenuous. Ruck sack backpack with no frame was a big challenge for an 11 year old!
