Ascent Trip Report

Could not find trail head so parked at Mount Waldo Road and walked up the steep granite mining road up to the quarry where the locals were cliff diving at heights of 20 to 60 feet. Ben did a 60 foot jump or two. Daniel and i began scrambling up the granite ledges on the opposite side following the slopes and accidently intercepted the actual maintained trail (Quarry Trail) that was well maintained, clean, and marked. Near the actual summit many nice granite slabs to overlook the river and nearby towns. Nice views. The quarry was not even half the way up from the summit. Surprisngly nice top for a short climb. Quarry was interesting because it was loaded with relic machinery and history and precarious places to jump in the water. Collected some nice samles of broken granite.
