Ascent Trip ReportThe trail to Francis Lake was in good shape and relatively easy (except for the final stretch from Kenneth Lake to Francis Lake). I actually departed the trail a little short of Francis Lake - just before it crossed the stream coming out of the lake, and got muddy. I headed west and had no issue finding a good path up. I was surprised how hard to find/keep the unmaintained trail was - I was on it for a very small percentage of the climb. Unfortunately, I climbed the ridge prematurely, and this wasted substantial time (and effort). It almost prevented me from gaining the summit as the weather was turning against me, but fortunately the thunderstorms held off long enough. The views from the summit are INCREDIBLE!
