Ascent Trip ReportI underestimated the roughness of the road and had to mountain bike 3-4 mi from the ranch fence road above the gravel pit to near the trailhead, around 6000'. The sand was dry and loose on the road, so there was at least 2 miles of walking the bike up. I echo the people who have said that getting there is tougher than climbing the mountain.
I will come next time in early summer, when there is more snow in the couloirs, since they looked like beautiful class 4 routes.
