Ascent Trip ReportDid this short but steep climb right after st regis. Wish I brought my poles. If I did this alone it would have been a cakewalk, but my legs were already tired from st regis so it was a bit blood-pumping. This is a real interesting climb despite its short ascent. The friends of azure encourage you bring rocks up from a rock pile the trailhead to fight erosion at the top. I took a few rocks, and was thanked by the observer at the top. Interesting rock formation about halfway up, looks pretty neat. Nice lookout also about 3/4 the way. On summit was greeted by friendly observer who spoke of the history of the tower, pointed out where St Regis was from and offered his binoculars to view. Ate lunch on gorgeous overlook, one of the best views i have seen so far, gets views of alot of wetlands and small lakes. Got card from observer then climbed down. Well worth the short but rewarding climb.
