Ascent Trip Report

Part #2 of Pyles Peak
Part #2 Pyles Peak

This TR details an after work hike to Cowles and Pyle peak. We started at 6:15, tagged Mount Cowles and reached Pyles Peak by 7:20. Many would argue that it takes a lot of work to get to Pyles Peak, a mountain with views that are not especially unique with the more grandiose Mount Cowles and Fortuna Mountains in the proximity. However, the hike is peaceful with none of the usual Mount Cowles traffic and offers good views throughout. The views of downtown are especially good. Following a short break we walked back to Mount Cowles by 8:00 and proceeded to safely stumbled to the parking lot under a new moon and saw a snake. Fun hike!
