Ascent Trip ReportParked in the National Trust car park and made a nearly exactly circular anti-clockwise excursion. A fight through bracken in the pouring rain up onto the summit area where we visited North (Wainwright summit with trig point & plaque) and South (rocky knolls) tops before returning via Aira Force to the welcome tea-rooms. The view of Ullswater from Gowbarrow Fell (in good weather) is classed as one of England's 100 best views in the book of that title by Simon Jenkins.
