Ascent Trip ReportUp early out of the Birdcage, the wonderful hostel in Dalton, Mass. This was a semi-strenuous hike (moreso because I had a good 25 lbs on my back from resupply). The trail crosses the summit road several times, although it was closed that day due to the ongoing renovation project at Bascom Lodge. The War Memorial was closed too. Shame. Beautiful weather though. Ended the day after 20 miles of hiking at Wilbur Clearing Lean-to, and camped with a couple of guys from New York City.
