Ascent Trip Report

This was the first summit in a string of SF high points & peaks I have dubbed the "Spine of San Francisco". I started out after a late, hearty breakfast by catching the bus @ 1pm from the Mission up to Twin Pks Blvd and headed up to Davidson. Reached the summit @ 2:30, then went on to the others in the sequence. Here is the list of summits/high points in order:

1-Mt Davidson, 2-Twin Peak (S), 3-Twin Peak (N), 3a-unnamed overlook @ end of Belgrave Ave, 4-Mt Olympus, 5-Buena Vista Park HP, 6-Corona Hts Crag.

None of these was a big challenge, but string them all together over the course of a long afternoon and you get a good amount of exertion. I'd add Mt. Sutro to the sequence if I ever do it again.

I've always been a fan of the "Urban Hike" which might encompass parks, cemetaries, campuses, neighborhoods, topography, human artifacts & a beer towards the end. It's really interesting to me to see how the topography interacts with the city: almost all of the prominent hills in SF are topped with parks.
