Ascent Trip Report

I hiked up from the highway (you can see the route at While I didn't see any cairns, I did follow what I thought was some sort of path (animal?) most of the way. Getting to the saddle north of the peak is not much of a challenge (other than some nasty bushwhacking). Once there, there was an obvious route (trail?) going up towards the summit - the key to notice was that it goes up to a point, then heads west to use an adjacent drainage. This second one goes to the summit. At one point I climbed the west wall to get away from all the loose dirt and rocks. Coming down offered a good opportunity for glissading (surfing the scree).
