Ascent Trip Report

Excellent outing, from Lodgepole, followed Twin Lakes trail for about 2 miles to where it crosses a creek and a very obvious use trail picks up, finally gaining some elevation after little was accomplished to this point. The use trail is very good, and easy to follow until you near the start of the slabs. The slabs were loads of fun, 1500+ vertical feet of goodness of mostly wide open travel. This gets you to Silliman Lake, a jewel where a few campers were seen. From there it's 800 vertical up rocky slopes, I stayed left and had some class 3 but that's easy to avoid. Big wow factor when you hit the summit, until that point the views are limited. One of the finest summit views I've seen.
