Ascent Trip Report

After spending night in the Johann-Erzherog Hutte, an early start saw us attain the summit at around 6am (using standard route). Quite a difficult final section, mostly due to the queues on the way down- quite narrow in parts and hard to get around people. From the hut to summit and vice versa the route is simple. The glacier is in good condition, although we still roped up (I saw a few crevasses). Recommend (at least in early July) using crampons for the rock/snow via ferrata up to the J.E.Hutte. Route well marked at all points.
