Ascent Trip ReportBegan hike from Oak Grove Fire Station at 7:25 AM. Walked to Oak Grove Trail, a fairly steep and rubble strewn path up ridge to Oak Grove Road. Followed road to intersection with Palomar Divide Road and followed that to foot of access road to top of High Point. Reached summit at 11:00 AM. Great view to west and the Palomar Observatory. After 30 minute lunch, retraced our path back down and reached Fire Station by 2:00. Great hike, strenuous at times but worth the effort.
Met a team of volunteers at summit, celebrating their restoration of High Point Lookout, which is to be opened to the public sometime in the near future.
