Ascent Trip ReportDrove up road from the east from Puebla to Tlamacas Lodge at 3947 m, walked a little ways up to towards Popocatepetl, and then drove down to Amecameca to the west, in 1987 VW Fox. Humungous potholes on ascent road, big enough to drive in, through, and out of. Tiny villages on the way, astonished to see us drive by in a small car! Felt very short-of-breath taking just a few steps from parking lot. Walked only about 100 m at pass before returning to vehicle for descent.
