Ascent Trip ReportThe goal of this trip is to climb most or all of the peaks with trails in the Worcester Mountain Range.......a prominent north-south ridge north of Montpelier (north of I89, between rtes #100 and #12). There are over a dozen peaks in this range, some of which are trailless.
Today's small peak in Elmore State Park is the northmost Peak in the Worcester Mountain Range. The entrance to the Park (with a small daily fee) is located on rte #12, 4 miles East of Morrisville.
The TH is at the end of the service road at the locked gate (from the Park entrance straight ahead for .6 miles). There is a picnic shelter and a parking area.
It is a short easy 2 hour round-trip climb......the last quarter mile however is a steep climb over numerous rocks and ledges.
We will overnight in this park and tomorrow I'll climb the main ridge of the Worcester Range, starting at the Mount Worcester TH on the east side of the range.
