Ascent Trip Report

Starting from the ski area one hikes down the paved Rancheria Road to an old abandoned dirt road that climbs to the saddle between Cooks Peak and Shirley Peak and from that saddle both peaks can be done cross-country with a return down the ski run from the summit of Shirley Peak.
