Ascent Trip Report

Sierra Club Trip - Sunday, 8/9, Up at 06:00, had breakfast and prepared for day hike. Kent, Sherry, Paul, and Fred left at 07:30 to hike up to Four Gables peak via east side of Desolation Lake (11,375’) up the valley and into the creek bed below Four Gables. After a 4-mile hike we arrived at the Four Gables Peak (12,720’) at 11:00 where we had lunch and took photos. Hiked the reverse route but along the west side of Desolation Lake passing Wedge Lake, various unnamed lakes, and Mesa Lake (known to have up to 17” trout). We had hiked about 12 miles and returned to our campsite at 15:15.
