Ascent of Wright Peak on 2009-06-06| Others in Party: | Luke Brennan and Aidn | | Date: | Saturday, June 6, 2009 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Wright Peak | | Location: | USA-New York | | Elevation: | 4587 ft / 1398 m |
Ascent Trip ReportThis peak was done on our way back from Iroquoi and Algonquin and from the split just .04 miles which dosn't seem bad but after batteling Iroquios tiny bushwacking trail and going back up Algonquin make sure that you had your Wheaties because you will still have a long way to go to get back to camp. Fun notes there are some real deep mud holes and I am talking deep as Aidan will attest to. make sure your boots are on tight. If you are unsure on your feet coming down make sure you have durable pants because Luke slid for a good part of the way down on his butt and had rosie cheeks when we were done. One other note from the Algonquin split back to the LOJ is where you will hit the most black flys. Bring protection because they werea real pain.
