Ascent of Central Pueblo Mountains Peak on 2009-04-04| Date: | Saturday, April 4, 2009 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Central Pueblo Mountains Peak | | Location: | USA-Oregon | | Elevation: | 8420 ft / 2566 m |
Ascent Trip ReportWestside approach in early april. Lots of snow in Arizona Creek on the east side still, so I took a chance that the mountain could be accessed from the west. Roads were typical of this area, and there are a few gates to open and close, but nothing a modest 4x4 cant handle. Ridgewalk was snow free until somewhere around the 7k mark, and was frozen enough in the morning to walk on without snowshoes. This was a highly enjoyable solo hike in great winter conditions.
