Ascent Trip Report

Left Flagstaff around 8:30(slightly hungover) got to snowbowl around 9:00. 20mph winds in town and 25ish at the snowbowl. Got to the saddle between the aggasiz portion and the Humphreys portion in less than 2hours, talked with the only other group that had summited that day, winds were 50-60mph in saddle and became worse with altitude and proximity to peak. Last 30m of the trail were on all 4s then jumped into the rock shelter, winds were sustained at 85mph and gusts up to around 95mph. ate lunch in the rock shelter, didn't particularly want to leave it, we did slowly making our way back to the saddle without toppling over. People were blown to the ground by the gusts. 80% of the people on the mountain turned back after the saddle. Great day though, as not many people on Arizona's highest point. Got to enjoy it by ourselves.
