Ascent Trip Report

This was a fun little hike - the north loop trail starts off fairly steep, and doesn't really relent until about 10,000 feet. I branched off the main trail just before an intervening peak, but it turns out there was an unmaintained trail on the other side, if I just stayed on the trail less than a tenth of mile further. Oh well, it worked out fine. From the saddle on the far side of the hill, the unmaintained trail appeared and disappeared but the route was obvious, with no serious challenges. For some unknown reason, the summit register was on the western (lower) summit! I still bagged the eastern summit (of course). The views were much better from the western summit, which was a rocky outcropping, as opposed to the densely forested eastern summit.
