Ascent Trip ReportStayed at the Table Mountain Lean-to on the first night after hiking from the Wittenberg-Cornell-Slide trailhead via Phonecia East Branch and Table-Peekamoose trails. The original plan was to traverse across Lone, Rocky, Balsam Cap, & Friday after Peekamoose and Table. After topping out on Table Mtn on day 2, it was evident that traversing these 4 mountains would be more of a bushwhack that I intended. I headed over to Peekamoose, back over Table, and all the way back down to the Phonecia East Branch trail. I then headed up Slide, Cornell, and Wittenberg. Not many views on most of these summits. No registers either. I spent night 2 at the Terrace Mtn lean-to. Day 3 consisted of hiking down to Woodland Valley and then back up to Giant Ledge and Panther Mountain. From Panther, I headed back over Giant Ledge and along the road for a short bit to my car. Overall, a great introduction to the Catskill Mountains.
