Ascent Trip Report

Great sunrise ascent. I drove my car to within 1.5 miles from the summit, only to be stopped by a massive mud hole. If not for that, I could have driven the car to within 1/2-mile of the summit. However, high-clearance (minimum) and 4WD (possibly) would be needed for some rough troughed road sections during the final 1/2-mile. In my opinion, this peak ranks alongside Strawberry Mountain for the best, far-ranging views I have ever seen from an eastern Oregon peak. The lookout was locked & boarded up. Highly recommended peak to visit.
