Ascent Trip Report

The road to our trailhead was a bit rough, but I think a passenger car could handle it if driven carefully. Our trailhead is a formal target shooting area, so take care upon approaching it on your return- if you keep to the wash, you will be out of the standard line of fire.

The hike is on open terrain, though the grass is the kind that gets stuck in your socks and shoes- you may want desert gaiters. When approaching the ridge, there are plenty of options, though on some there were short cliff bands that would need to be climbed or avoided.

The peak is really an overlooked gem- the views from the summit may be the best in the area with views of Gass Peak, Charleston Peak (and most of the southern Spring Mountains, Red Rock, the Las Vegas valley with all the other peaks that overlook it, Lake Mead, the Mormon Mountains, the Arrow Canyon Range.
