| Elevation:||1000 ft / 304 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThis HP is in a cornfield, and it turns out that April is an excellent time to visit as the corn has not been planted yet! So, the field was pretty open and the HP. It is an easy walk, but the actual "summit" is somewhat hard to discern. There are other local maxima nearby (within a mile), some tree-covered, that appear on the same level or higher.
There is a good trip report on cohp.org, which I followed. Parking at the water tower is still a good option. There are two rows of electrical towers here as landmarks. The HP is slightly before and to the right of the 2nd tower in from the road of the right line of towers.
The breeze affected my GPS' ability to measure altitude. 60 ft of "climb" is my best estimate.
A route that would have less walking through corn would be to go a little way north to where there is a golf course (and no fence around it), and then approach the HP coords walking south.
My GPS coords: 42.43463, -85.54700 and UTM 16 T 0619512 4699058.
