Ascent Trip Report

I-80 Exit 194 to Golconda, follow paved Eden Valley road for two miles to bridge over Humbolt river, after bridge the road becomes well graded gravel suitable for low clearance car. Follow north for approx 13 miles just past a ranch youll see a dirt 4wd road heading east into a canyon (Goughs Canyon)which climbs gradually to 5800ft then forks. I continued up a ridgeline east of the road fork to point 7942 then followed the summit ridgeline. Some 2nd class scrambling on the summit ridge. The weather was cloudy with low visibility above 6500ft and snowdrifts on the ridges up to 3ft deep. The visibility improved as I was descending. Observed pronghorn and a golden eagle. Gave Ascent a 4 due to snow and weather.
