Ascent Trip Report

I was attracted to this hill when I checked the aerial photo and found a most unusual structure at the summit. This turned out to be one of the "underground" houses built by the well-known architect, William Morgan. Herewith info:

I drove to the beginning of the driveway that wanders east to the house, at N28.48551 W82.28638, on Baseball Pond Road. It was gated and padlocked, with very negative signage from Two Rivers Ranch, which apparently owns a lot of property in the area. i then drove south to Hickory Hill Road and turned left (east) to see if I could at least eyeball the house and hill from the south. However, where the road starts steeply uphill at about the 100' contour, there was another gate, also from Two Rivers Ranch, this one automatic, with even more negatively worded signage. Since 2008, the road from there east is no longer a public road. As a result, i never got a look at Hickory Hill or the house thereon. I-75 passes a little over a mile southeast of the hill, and there may be a view from the highway. Unfortunately I never thought to look when I drove by there earlier in the day, and did not then have time to retrace my steps.
