Ascent Trip Report

After leaving Ben and John in the col between Townsend and Abbott, it was a short and easy open-country walk through the rocky meadows up to the summit of Abbott. There were a few places where I took a small detour to get around or over some boulders, but it took only a short while to reach the open summit, with a 360-view except where "SW Abbott" and Townsend got in the way. After a short stop to drink in the feeling of being all alone under the blue sky on a beautiful peak in Australia, I headed across the next col, even more gentle than the previous one, to "SW Abbott".
