Ascent Trip Report

wonderful weather. there were patches of snow on the road starting at 4700' and then the road was snow covered from 5500' up to almost the summit. the summit was mostly dry. i wore yaktrax above 5500', the snow was only a few inches deep and pretty wet, so it packed easily.

could see 80 miles to mount san antonio's snow covered peak floating above the LA haze (aka mount baldy). also could see san gorgonio and the transverse range, san jacinto and rabbit peak. all of which were nicely covered with snow.

nothing difficult about the hike other than length/elevation.
