Ascent Trip ReportParked at the last lot on 6. Followed Diamond Notch trail (blue) southeast to the Devil's Path, then to the summit. Didn't go the extra mile to the southwest peak - had to be back to nap before work that night.
Beautiful day. Gorgeous views from Buck Ridge Lookout just before the summit. Looking down on Hunter Mountain Ski Area, and out (north) to the Blackhead Range. Beautiful day; very quiet except for the wind in the valleys below - I thought it was traffic at first.
Still plenty of ice on the trails; crampons the whole way up. Saw a few people slip-sliding their way up when I reached the base again - I doubt they could have made it past the few tricky spots w/o crampons. Too bad they were carrying their snowshoes (extra weight), no reason for them unless it snows again this season.
