Ascent Trip ReportThis was the hardest bushwhack thus far on my trip. I went a slightly different route then the Carolina Mountain Club and I think it was a bit easier. I started on the southeast ridge but a little farther east than the CMC. It seemed to be clear here all the way to the top of the ridge. Then I just traveled west along the ridge following the faint manway. There are some dense spots but usually you can find a path around. I tried coming down the route as described by the CMC but never really saw a good path so I gave up and came down the same way I went up.
