Ascent Trip Report

Couldn't find a campsite along the trail, so we left boulder at midnight, drove to RMNP and started climbing underneath the stars and the perseids meteor shower. Reached the boulderfield under the cover of night and the keyhole as the sun was coming up. Big winds above the keyhole. Narrows, Trough and Homestretch had traces of snow, and a little sketchy in spots. I took a nap in the summit hut on the way down, and totally bonked as I was coming down trail. I've never lost so much energy so quickly in a hike. Finished around 2:30PM just as the thunderstorms were coming along. This was without a doubt, the craziest hike I've ever done in my 25 years on this planet. This is one you tell your kids about when they turn 18.
