Ascent Trip Report

We went up and down via the Mischabel hut. The walk / scramble to the hut is long, and quite arduous towards the end (near the hut) requiring the use of some fixed chains. Lower down, the walk and view are very pretty, a winding path through steep alpine grassy slopes. I do not remember the hut itself, so it can't have been bad! The summit hike involves a very pleasant walk cross a glacier and then a fairly steep scramble up a ridge, which was fairly windy. The dawn "mountain gold" was particularly spectacular on this occasion. The view from the summit towards Dom and the Matterhorn was memorable.
