Ascent Trip Report

This peak is near the Philmont Scout Range, and I climbed it from north to south with 12 fellow scouts Senior High School. The peak itself is not particularly challenging, but it was part of of a 11-day, 54 mile trek. We did not plan on camping at the summit, but lost the trail on the way up and were further slowed by thunderstorms, so we spent the night at the top and continued to the south the next day. Nice views from the top. My understanding is that the peak itself is public land and can be climbed from the west side without entering the scout camp.
