Ascent Trip Report

Started out from the Elk Lake trailhead hoping to do at least 3 or 4 peaks. It had been raining the night before and by morning everything was very wet. We followed the Dix Trail out to the herd path to Macomb Mt. When we got there everything was still very wet and decided that we would rather stick to the marked/maintained trails. So we continued on to the junction with the Beckhorn Trail then ascended Dix via the Beckhorn Trail. We got several good views during the ascent but when we reached the summit of Dix the clouds had come in and we had NO view at all. We decided to make a loop of it and descended the other trail down to Hunter's Pass. That was a VERY steep trail especially as we approached the bottom of the Pass. Once we reached the pass the rest of the hike out was very easy just long and tiring.
