Ascent Trip Report

Skyline Drive is in pretty bad shape- I wouldn't attempt it without 4WD. We came from East Benchmark, so we connected to Skyline Drive north of the peaks, and, after the summits headed south so we saw that the road was poor in both directions, but worse to the north.

We elected to skip North on the ascent (not sure if what we did was easier or not), so we traversed to near the vicinity of the saddle, and then went up. The first couple hundred vertical feet were tough, but the last hundred, much like the ridge beyond it were quite easy. Once on the ridge we found a use trail connecting North and South Tent Mountains.

We went over North Tent Mountain on the descent. While descending from North Tent, the ground was surprising hard and uneven, making what looked like a trivial descent a bit harder (and less enjoyable).
