Ascent Trip Report

Michael and I drove in a snow storm with Kristen and Natalie. The roads were a little slick but that is the beauty of having a four wheel drive vehicle. On the way I was going just a little too fast and my car slid into a snow bank but no big deal we just kept going. That did not stop us. We were very determined to hike. Our original destination was Pinkham Notch but Michael decided to change it to a closer destination. Of course the idea was to knock off another 4K footer since we are trying to climb all 67 in a calendar year. Tecumseh was a great choice. It is next to Waterville ski area where the trailhead begins. We started with snowshoes and would need them for the entire hike since it would snow the whole day. It was a good hike with a steep accent for the last mile or so. We had lunch on the summit and then on the way down we stop at an overlook to practice using our ice axes. We played a little and then we went back down. The whole hike from start to finish took about 4 hours, but that included playing in the snow for a little bit. I had a ton of fun!!
