Ascent Trip ReportWe decided that the best way to start out our St. Patty's day would be a quick trip up to the little old town of Virginia City to tackle the tallest point in Storey County. We studied the topo provided on SummitPost and headed out... Let me tell you that it might have been the worst trail suggestions I have ever seen. Those trails not only didn't exist but more over, after climbing it, I would be inclined to believe the person who drew the trails on had never seen the mountain, much less climbed it. At any rate the day was gorgeous and after well over an hour we attained the summit. The downtrip we took an abandoned service road that looped around the backside. We stopped in one of the local bars at the bottom and had a celebratory drink. Those contemplating the hike I would suggest plenty of water and suntan lotion. The view from the top is worth it in the end, as always enjoy.
