Ascent Trip ReportSince the Illinois highpoint is only open 4 weekends per year we decided to drive down and climb it. 495 miles round trip. When we got to the gate there were several cars there and we met many friendly highpointers on the trail and at the summit and traded HP experiences. Lovely day and a nice view of the corn and soybean fields of Northern Illinois. HP #16.
