Ascent Trip ReportDeparted the hackberry TH at 0700 and headed upstream arriving at the Watson cabin 2 hours later. First hour is thru narrow canyon, 2nd hour the canyon widens and invasion of the tamarisks begins. Four hrs from start arrived at Sam Pollock arch. Arch is big. Sam Pollock canyon starts out rough, bouldering, but shortly becomes a pleasant stroll thru sandy wash.
From arch I headed (easy bushwhack) north then west to ridgeline and followed hiker/cow trail back to Yellow Rock. On Yellow Rock a dozen goats were out exploring. Everyone likes to parade on Yellow Rock. They watched me try to find the exit back to Cottonwood. Took a while but I found the route and got back to car at 1800.
