Ascent Trip ReportThis was an excellent hike, as I did a bunch of different trails in the immediate area. This is a competing highpoint for Lehigh County, and is the second highpoint I have bagged in the county to claim it. I went south on the AT to the blue blazed south trail, which took me to the high area - Fantastic views! Great boulder hopping. I then rejoined the AT and continued to Ashfield Rd, as this was also a section hike of the AT for me. I then turned around and hiked north on the AT to the blue blazed North Trail. I took it to the Devil's Pulpit Trail (Do not attempt with snow/ioe on ground unless you are prepared and REALLY know what you are doing - this trail is very steep and dangerous) I learned the hard way- but thankfully came away unscathed - I also had to, after a lot of hard work, settle for a view from about thirty feet away, as conditions were way too dangerous for me to go out on the "pulpit" itself. I then had to climb all the way back up a very difficult route in the ice/snow. Once I got back to safer trail, reagained by breath and composure, changed my underwear, etc., I continued on the North Trail to where it rejoined the AT, where I continued south to the parking lot and my car. Great adventure!
